ABOUT
Dr. Mendelberg is a psychologist specializing in individual psychotherapy for people experiencing anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress who are seeking to work through difficulties and reach their goals and aspirations. While her theoretical orientation is psychoanalytic, she draws from different approaches (such as dynamic, cognitive, behavioral and existential psychotherapies) according to the needs of each patient. Her experience corroborates the evidence, shown by recent multiple studies, that what makes psychotherapy work is the therapeutic relationship between the patient and the therapist.
She has been director of outpatient psychotherapy clinics and inpatient programs, and has supervised psychiatric residents, psychology interns, and psychotherapists. She founded and developed the Lighthouse, a multidisciplinary clinic. She taught at universities and medical schools, conducted research on mood disorders, published articles about diverse psychological issues, and served as a psychologist consultant in the US, Israel, and Latin America.
Dr. Mendelberg earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wisconsin, after graduating with a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and Educational Psychology, and a Masters Degree in Behavioral Disabilities. Previously, she studied psychology as well as art at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel and at the Universidad of Madrid, Spain. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hebrew.
Dr. Mendelberg obtained psychology licenses in the states of New Jersey and Wisconsin, and in Israel where she is also licensed as a Supervisor in Clinical Psychology.
